The Itivuttaka, of the Khudaka Nikaya (Khudaka Nikaya), is a collection of 112 short sutras, whose title is derived from the sentence "The Buddha preached like this" (Itivuttam). The practice is divided into four chapters: chapter one, chapter two, chapter three, chapter three and chapter four.

The Sino-Buddhist scriptures contain translations of Itivuttaka, often attributed to the translation of Xuanzang. This translation has many passages like the Itivuttaka Pali. The main difference is that Xuanzang's translation does not contain many scriptures in Chapter III and absolutely no Chapter IV. It is possible that these sections were gathered later in the Pali organ, but not in Sanskrit to translate into Chinese literature. It is also possible that Huyen Trang did not complete the translation as it was translated during the last months of his life.
